3CX V16, Update 5 Hotfix
Due to a chain of events, a Debian 9 root certificate was removed in the latest library package of ca-certificates. Apple Inc. uses this root certificate for many of their services, one of them being the notification system (APNS). With the removal of this certificate, the trust between the operating system and the service is broken resulting in the failure to deliver chat messages and calls to iOS-based devices.
To note: The latest version 3CX iOS app has no reported performance issues. The failure to deliver chat messages and calls is in no way related to the latest version of our iOS app.
What’s in this Hotfix
This hotfix is for users who have already updated the Debian package. The hotfix inserts the required GeoTrust Global CA back into the trusted root store of the operating system.
Additionally, it addresses a time range issue for custom report ranges. Users will now be allowed to pick dates beyond the 23rd of June. The update applies to Linux and Windows users.
